I used the larger of rocks in our rock pile to create this border. I placed the rocks in the indentation formed by rain hitting the ground at the base of our shed.
I like coming here...your background is adorable..i hope you keep this up as a place to visit during the, cold and gray days of winter. Your yards gets cuter and cuter all the time. I don't know if i commented before...but your husbands deer looks good. The bird sounds are perfect. :-)
I'll try to keep it up, Dee. Don't know how much I'll be venturing out the front OR back doors come cold weather :)
Eileen - I think it might have been a head board...we found it lying with someone's trash and I though, "We can do something with that!" I'd like to make a bench out of it one day....
I asked my husband. The legs were hollow on this. He thinks he buried and slipped the headboard over it. You could just bury enough of the sidebar to support the headboard, though. Thank you for your kind compliments. I look forward to seeing YOURS next spring.
Rebecca: I read your "challenge" to the title of Thrifting Queen. And rather than fight you for it ('cause I'm a lover and not a fighter), I think we can state our kingdoms: I'm Queen in my land and you in yours!! But you know what would be wonderful? You and I getting together to thrift! We'd be unbeatable AND unstopable. I'll start saving immediately!!

Really, really pretty! And I love the headboard. How do you get it to stay in place?? I have one that I'd like to use next year.
