Spring Fling

What a change from last week!
We're WAY behind last year -
I know, 'cause I checked my posts from a year ago...
but inspired by the beautiful weather
and six episodes of Carol Klein's  Life in a Cottage Garden
(thanks to "heads up" from Melissa of Empress of Dirt)
husband and I have spent hours yesterday and today
trimming bushes and trees and cleaning out flower beds.
 There's more to do...but we've made a good start!
I guess you could call this our Spring Fling.

  1. Wow, looks like you really got a lot accomplished. Doesn't it feel good?

  2. Things are changing here too. Good for you for all you got done!

  3. It's nice to get out and get some things done so you are all ready for the new things to grow. We have some more cold days coming in though.

  4. Great! You have working very well. I like the first pic with that old tree.

  5. Hope you get some color soon. We are behind compared to last year too, but I would rather have it this way because last year everything came up in March and then froze in April.
I'm glad I cleaned out most of my flower beds last fall because it's been too cold to do anything this spring.
Thanks for visiting my blog and I'm your newest follower. Your welcome to follow mine too.

    1. It's good to hear back from you. I know I'll be dropping in to Serenity Cove (I love that name) often!

I leave seed heads up during winter for birds as well as visual interest. I'll probably do it again even though I don't necessarily look forward to the clean up in the spring....

It HAS been cold - but the temperatures and sunshine combined to make a couple of good afternoons for a vigorous workout in the yard :)

  6. You have definitely done a great and awesome job! A spring fling indeed..
