Paths and Walkways

The day was SO fine.  My husband suggested a drive.  Auburn, IN was the destination.  We walked the sidewalks in one of our favorite neighborhoods there.  Today I noticed the walkways and paths.  These were a few of them...

Another day, my camera may be drawn to all the wrought iron work...or maybe the unique way house numbers are posted.  Today it was paths (and this one open gate set back in the yard.)  I was SO tempted to see what was in the back yard!  Click on the picture to enlarge it.  Isn't it charming?!

  5. What a fun post! My favorite was the path for the rain water as it comes down the gutter. We have those ugly long spouts to take the water away from the house. I've been thinking about poking holes in a couple of them so the flower beds get some of that water. Nice photos!

  6. Sue, I photographed the "water path" because I'm always stumped about how to camouflage them. I thought this was an attractive feature. (However when I got home and looked at our situations, I realize we don't have much of a slope....)

  8. What I love so about pathways is that there's going to be something at the end and you won't know what it is until you get there! Lovely blog!

  9. The last picture has a very English feel to it. What a lot of different paths there are -a philosophical moment - just like life. :<)

There are a couple Indiana blogs you may like, Rebecca:

We're going to start building a deck this week and you're inspiring me how to make a pathway to the potting shed from the deck......
One of my favorite things is: cobblestone streets!

  12. Those pathways are so nice. I love the first one with a bit of formality yet easy going style. I wish it was in my garden!
