It was quite impossible to capture the red of this morning with the cell phone I held in my hands. The sight was breathtaking. True to the rhyme, we are to have freezing rain and sleet this evening and during the night...
I know you already know this, but perhaps some others aren't aware that this is spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 16:
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times...
What beautiful photos you did capture Rebecca. I need to open up my curtains and look outside a little earlier in the moring!
Our freezing rain was predicted for this morning but now they are saying it might not be as bad as originally thought. Waiting to hear that Bob made it to work ok...
Jacquelyn, "our" rain didn't freeze either. And yes, I remember that "red in the morning" couplet was in the Bible.... I actually became aware of the color of the sky while sitting in my living room chair and seeing the sky in the WEST! I KNEW there must have been a beautiful sunrise--and there WAS. I SO wish I could have photographed it properly.
Oh my, such beautiful pictures - mornings mystery for sure - and we are in the midst of a freezing rain/ice event here in Connecticut. - very slick out there. Love Gail peace.....
Love the Winter photos. I have posted a number of photos Winter and other on my Blog that you may find inspiring. Gardens do that to me, and I see to you too. You can see some recent photos and others if you use google search engine and check out my blog at: gardensatwaterseast.blogspot.com/ Here on the shores of Lake Michigan, even the dead of Winter is beautiful and full of "voice". Very pretty! We are predicted to have freezing rain and sleet tonight too.
ReplyDeleteAnd its true -- often the weather will change when the sky is red and the redder the sky the worse the weather!
ReplyDeleteLovely picture even if it was taken with a cell phone!
